Historic Downtown District and Drake Harbor
After a downtown traffic and pedestrian safety study in 1999, improvements began to be made to Main Street in 2001. Over the years the City of Warsaw has devoted countless hours and millions of dollars revitalizing the Historic Downtown District and creating an atmosphere that tourists and locals alike enjoy year round.
Cracked sidewalks were widened and replaced by old-style brick pavers, and along with replicate period lighting, lends an air of days gone by as you stroll Main Street. Parking is ample and easy to access. The revitalization invited new businesses to take root, and today Warsaw boasts a large variety of unique shopping and dining along Historic Main Street.
The improvements made to Drake Harbor, beginning in 2010 with the boardwalk known as Steamboat Landing, have enhanced the experience of the Historic Downtown District by offering access to miles of Osage Arm of Lake of the Ozarks, and the Riverfront Trails, connected by the Joe Dice Swinging Bridge.
The City of Warsaw is committed through on-going improvements to a future that reflects the past of this beautiful area: travel and trade. From a small frontier town with humble beginnings, to one of the largest recreational destinations in Missouri, Warsaw offers unique travel experiences and is a great place to come home to.
